Anita Sarkeesian debuts her Positive Female Characters series
Feminist video game critic Anita Sarkeesian has debuted the first video in her new series, Positive Female Characters, where she examines examples of video games getting feminism right.
This premiere episode focuses on the player character in Capybara Games' 2011 adventure Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, a game we rather liked.
"This episode examines how Sword & Sworcery employs widely recognisable action adventure game tropes to make the Scythian's quest feel like the stuff of video game legend, and how in doing so, it asserts that women can fill the role of the mythic hero as effectively as men can," stated Sarkeesian in her video description.

Blog Post: Assassin's Feed: Episode 45: Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China
Hello everybody and welcome to another episode of Assassin's Feed. This week we're talking about Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China.
First off, let's talk about the name. It's titled "Assassin's Creed Chronicles", then subtitled "China", as if there are going to be more chronicles not in china, providing a spin-off game franchise.
From what we know, Assassin's creed Chronicles: China is a 2.5d side scroller that takes place in, you guessed it, China. You play as Shao Jun, a Chinese assassin in 1526, two years after she met with legendary assassin Ezio Auditore.
Not only is it 2.5D, but it also in a water paint style, appose from the CG style of previous Assassin's creed games.
It has been confirmed to be playable on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC and will be free to those who bought the Assassin's Creed Unity Season Pass, but what about Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PlayStation Vita? The game seems like it could be easily playable on all of those platforms. On March 23, a Leaked image came out saying that Assassin's creed Chronicles: China was coming out on Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. But that's not even the most crazy part, it also said it was coming out March 24, but it didn't. So trust this source or not, but we may see Assassin's creed Chronicles: China arrive to last gen consoles.

The Witcher 3 could take over 200 hours to complete
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt could take completionists over 200 hours to wrap up, according to senior game designer Damien Monnier.
When asked about the game's length on Twitter, Monnier replied, "mmmm hard to say, if you do everything I d say 200+ hours."
Previously the game had been estimated to be roughly half that with a 50-hour main quest and 50 hours of side-quests.

According to a report on Deadline Hollywood , the Metal Gear Solid film has found a writer. According to Deadline, Jay Basu (Monsters: Dark Continent) is penning the script.[Excerpt]
Metal Gear Solid is being produced by Avi and Ari Arad of Arad Productions. Avi Arad is the executive producer on a number of Fox’s and Sony’s Marvel films, including Fantastic Four, Venom, and Iron Fist. Ari Arad was the executive producer on Iron Man.
Jordan Vogt-Roberts is directing. He’s currently attached to Kong: Skull Island and directed Boys of Summer.
The film was first announced in 2012, and was reaffirmed in June 2014 when Vogt-Roberts was announced as director. With series creator Hideo Kojima planning to step away from the franchise (perhaps for real this time), it’s unclear who, if anyone, will be advising the project.

Blog Post: Trials Fusion After The Incident DLC Pack Out Now
The final DLC pack for Trials Fusion’s season pass, titled After The Incident, is out now on Xbox One and PC, with a PS4 release on the way tomorrow.[Excerpt]
While the pack loosely continues the game’s light narrative, the Trials games have always been about the tracks and After The Incident delivers on that front. Players who have the season pass or purchase the DLC will get 10 new tracks, as well as 24 new challenges, five trophies, and new items for the track editor.

The Trials Fusion season pass is available for $19.99, and includes the five previous DLC packs. Individual packs, including After The Incident, can be purchased separately for $4.99.
Note: While Ubisoft has confirmed that an Xbox 360 version of the DLC will be coming to Xbox 360 on April 7, they did not mention a PS3 version nor is there a PS3 logo along with its PS4 counterpart at the end of the trailer.

Welcome to my Binary Boom review! This is one of the latest “free” binary options trading systems to hit the market and I’m here today to find out whether or not this one is different from the rest – can this one finally allow us to profit or is it just going to leave us broke & red faced like the others? My guess is the latter, but regardless I’m going to dive in and find out what it’s all about.
The first thing I noticed about this system is that it works on 60 second binary trades. Anybody that knows binary options will know that these are just an absolute pure gamble & that there’s no way you could possibly guarantee profits on such a short trade. In 60 seconds there simply isn’t enough time to build up any logic to work out which way the trades going to go and to be honest you may as well just be betting red or black on roulette.
To those who don’t have previous experience with binary options the website could come across as being fairly convincing, but don’t be fooled. A claim of over 82% accuracy on 60 second trades is just outrageous, even a professional couldn’t achieve such results. Clearly a lot of effort has gone into building the website & unfortunately it’s probably going to draw a lot of people in, but based on past experience with these so called “free” binary systems my personal advice would be to avoid it. That is unless of course you’re looking for the fastest to way to lose your money.
I’ve seen literally hundreds of these supposedly “free” binary options systems and this one is no different. They claim the system is free but the first thing they ask you to do is sign up via their recommended broker and deposit around at least $250 – in my eyes this isn’t free. Usually they’ll say you need to deposit via their recommended broker because they’ve tested it and the system works with them and might not work with others, but the truth is they tell you to deposit via them because they get a big fat commission when you do.
Some of these systems don’t even have systems at all except your only left to find that out after you’ve deposited your money. Quite often these websites have been nothing more than a front to try and earn fat commissions for getting people to deposit with a broker – once you’ve deposited they no longer care since they’ve already got their commission. Now I’m not saying that’s the case here with Binary Boom but I certainly wouldn’t want to risk $250 to find out.
Does it work?
“Free” binary options systems have built up a very bad reputation. There’s currently at least a couple of hundred in the marketplace that I’ve came across and I’ve yet to see a single one work. I personally haven’t tried this system because I refuse to deposit $250 to test it based on my past experience, however I’m going to confidently say that no, it doesn’t work.

Blog Post: Almost, but not Quite: Dragon Quest VIII
[Disclaimer: I can't figure out how to make paragraphs work, so enjoy this giant block!] Imagine, if you will, a chubby little kid obsessed with Dragon Ball Z being told by his friend that Akira Toriyama designed the characters of Dragon Quest VIII. Imagine the excitement of that kid—a kid with two Rubbermaid totes full of Dragon Ball Z action figures and a Budokai 3 disc so worn out, it almost can’t be read—when he is told about that game, an unknown adventure with a familiar aesthetic. Imagine what that kid’s next birthday must have been like. As a kid, my gaming time consisted largely of Battlefront, Pokémon, and any Dragon Ball Z game I could get my hands on. Save for a few exceptions, I rarely branched out from that basic structure. Once I got ahold of Dragon Quest VIII, I had no idea what to expect beyond what I saw at my friend’s house. Even then, I was surprised how much I loved that game. I had never played a game with so much to do and so many places to go, and so I wanted to experience everything the game had to offer. I spent long stretches of time just wandering the world, doing whatever struck my fancy—talking to people, exploring towns, fighting monsters. Even if I got stuck on a boss or a dungeon, I’d just turn around and find something else to do. Even leveling up and increasing characters’ attributes—something that’s an afterthought these days—roped me in and kept me engrossed. My memory of the game has faded over the years, but there are still plenty of moments I remember. Of course, there’s the first time I saw the player character enter “Super High Tension”, which is basically a purple Super Saiyan. Then there’s the time when my friend and I frantically tried to beat the first boss with full bladders, not realizing the combat was turn-based and we could just stop and take a bathroom break whenever we wanted. Seeing the unique Hacksaurus near the starting town for the first time and having it nearly wipe out my parting was tense and thrilling; returning later to defeat it and make it fight for me was borderline cathartic. And of course, I need not describe the strange crush I developed on party member Jessica (I was about ten; cut me some slack. Whose idea was it to include a “Sex Appeal” attribute?). Of course, the enthusiasm was bound to dwindle eventually. I finally reached a fight with the main villain, and couldn’t best him. I’ve never had a mind for strategy, especially not then, so any battle that couldn’t be won with brute force was difficult for me. I knew it couldn’t be the final battle, but eventually just wandering around the world and visiting the same old places began to grow stale. I moved on to other games, and I never managed to finish the game. Even though I’ve never beaten it, I credit Dragon Quest VIII as the game that made me fall in love with RPGs. I didn’t play many of them besides Pokémon for a while, but once I got an Xbox 360, I tried more and more, the memories of the good times I had in DQVIII serving as motivation. Even now Dragon Quest is helping me broaden my gaming horizons; I’ve recently resolved to try more turn-based RPGs, and the four entries on the DS will no doubt help rekindle my love for the genre. Forgive the cheesy line, but I don’t think I’d be quite the same gamer I am today were it not for Dragon Quest VIII.

Minimalist score-chasing platformer Woah Dave! will secretly be free in April for PlayStation Plus subscribers.
What we mean by secretly is that it won't officially be part of next month's Instant Game Collection, so you'll have to search for it separately - a tip unveiled on the PlayStation Blogcast.

Rainbow Six Siege Collector's Edition comes with 120-page tactical guide
The Collector's Edition of Rainbow Six: Siege, dubbed the "Art of the Siege Edition", will contain a 120-page "tactical guide", Ubisoft has announced.
Pre-orders for the standard edition of the game will include access to the closed beta later this year along with an exclusive numbered steel book upon the game's release on PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Yeah, I didn't think I could like the atmosphere more than Dark Souls, but it's just so captivating! It's like a mix of Victorian/Gothic Hellsing Lovecraftian Castlevania *** nightmare.
Every time I enter a new area I think the game surely must have hit it's peak by now, but NOPE! The next area always blows me away.
There are so many enemies in this game too! Every new area has disgusting new enemies, and they all have so many different attack patterns. Enemies also move around and patrol more, so you can't just expect them to stay put like in dark souls.
There are spells, but they are more like demonic rituals or summonings than "magic" I haven't seen a lot of the spells, but I really like what I've seen.

UPDATE 30/03/2015: The first trailer for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's Ascendance DLC has gone live. As seen below, it shows off a new enemy: a zombie in mech. Oh dear.
ORIGINAL STORY 18/03/2015: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's second DLC add-on, Ascendance, is due on 31st March for Xbox One and Xbox 360.
These things always have a 30-day exclusivity period, so we'll be shocked if it doesn't arrive on PlayStation consoles and PC the week after that expires.
