So I finally bought it. And I'm really not doing half bad! Cleric Beast sent me for a loop, since I used all my molotov cocktails on the big hammer dude behind the door. I lost 6800 points and the only way to get them back is to beat the Cleric Beast. I'll need to use two of my...whatever they are, those things that get you extra echoes, just to stock up on molotovs, because I"m really not sure how many I will be able to retrieve from enemies. I am so far enjoying the offense-based combat much more than the defense-based Souls games. While I've gone up against a few foes at once (the cane whip is great for crowd control), I still find myself able to dispatch lesser enemies with ease. And if I can't, I know it's because I messed up. So the combat is perfect for me, really.


The only thing I really do not like, is the graphic quality. I turned it on, expecting smooth textures and a decent character render. To my dismay, it looks as though neither has jumped in quality from last generation. Perhaps my eyes just need to get used to this, after playing GTA and The Order? I don't know. But it seems From is tentative deviating from the style of their successes, even just a little bit, much like Ubisoft has done with Assassin's Creed. At least those are all titles in a series.


That aside, I am actually loving my foray into Yharnam and hoping for a great time further on.
